On our doorstep lies the wealth of activities, attractions, and the romance for which the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park area of Scotland is rightly famous.

There are many attractions to enjoy in the area, such as Callander Golf Course, The Hamilton Toy Collection and the Trossachs Woollen Mill where you can see Hamish the highland "coo". The DreadnoughtHotel is also in close proximity to Stirling, which has many activities and places of interest, such as Stirling Castle, Blair Drummond Safari Park, and Stirling Old Town Jail, as well as an extensive shopping centre for the bargain hunters amongst you.

It sounds a bit strange now, but to the Victorians, swimming in freezing spring water was just what the doctor ordered. So it goes that in 1868, under the management of physician Thomas H. Meikle, weopened our doors as The Strathearn Hydropathic Establishment Company. Our management team practically grew up in the hospitality business (in fact, a couple of them practically grew up in this very hotel). So they know what makes the difference between a great leisure break and a crummy one.

There is an abundance of walks and activities in the local area and some of Scotland's greatest attractions are a manageable drive away. We (Victoria and Alex) took over the Crags Hotel in 2007 andhave spent the interim trying to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that appeals to families, sportsmen and travelers. We have put an awful lot of time and passion into creating a cosy and luxurious experience for our guests.

3 miles from the M9 motorway and as such is approximately 1 hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh, 30 minutes from Perth and 15 minutes from Stirling.
