About the Business
The Hop Pole Hotel was built circa 1740 by the Savile family, owners of nearby Rufford Abbey since the mid 1600s. It is a handsome early Georgian coaching inn situated on Main Street in Ollerton village, opposite the River Maun and watermill. For many years, one of the principal occupations in Ollerton was hop growing - hop vines were grown in fields along the River Maun from the late 1600s and a weekly hop market was held in the village.
Today, the Hop Pole Hotel retains 15 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, all recently refurbished to a high standard.
