Babbacombe is the quieter part of Torquay with its own special seafront, beaches with cliff railway promenade, cafes, pubs and theatre. Babbacombe also boasts possibly the best sea and coastal walks as well as the famous Model Village, sea fishing, golf and of course shopping in St. Marychurch Village all are very close to the hotel. During the 1800s, many literary figures based themselves in Torquay.
