Within a 20-mile radius, you can learn to abseil in the morning, tour an award-winning vineyard in the afternoon and eat at Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant in the evening. Or, if pottering and moseying are more your style, a day or two spent between sub-tropical National Trust gardens, well-stocked art galleries and historic castles might suit you better.
