About the Business
It is said that The Duke is named after the Duke of Beaufort but he was reluctant to associate his name with a pub, insisting, instead, that it should be called simply The Duke Hotel. He would surely have second thoughts if he could come back and see it today. The Duke is now the perfect place to enjoy good food and quality overnight accommodation, just 15 minutes drive from Junction 16 of the M4. Though people are prepared to travel long distances to relax at The Duke, it still remains a focal point for community life, just as you would expect from a traditional village pub.
