About the Business
The Hillcarter Hotel was originally built in 1887 as the department store Hill and Carter and it continued as such for over a hundred years, changing its name to Blacketts and then Dovecot.
The building was renovated in 1997, with neighbouring buildings incorporated to restore the exterior appearance to its original grandeur. It was completely transformed internally to provide a 26 bedroom hotel, with a glazed rooftop function suite offering stunning views of Hartlepool, the Marina and beaches of neighbouring Seaton Carew. The hotel also comprises several public bars, a small nightclub and a spacious 1st floor function suite which can seat up to 130 people.
The Hillcarter Hotel is situated in the centre of Hartlepool and a stone's throw away from the town's new transport hub, comprising bus and rail services.
