About the Business

The Castle Hotel is formerly the gate house for the High Flyer farm which spread across most of Ely back in olden days. Part of the hotel dates back to 1848 with a later extension built in 1928. The hotel was taken over by new owners in 2011 who transformed it by creating a comfortable friendly environment while maintaining the English charm of the original parts of the building.

The Castle Hotel is situated on a quiet residential street just 5 minutes walk from Ely's town centre and just 11 miles / 30 minute drive to the historic City of Cambridge and only 11 miles / 20 minute drive from Newmarket. There are plenty of local restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine including Italian, Chinese, Thai, English etc just a short walk from the hotel.
