About the Business
The Downshire Arms Hotel was built in 1816 and is a fine example of an old Georgian Coaching Inn. Although the hotel has been modernised it still retains many of its original features. It has been owned by the Heslip family for over 50 years and is renowned for it's warm welcome only to be expected in a family run business. Whether relaxing in the bar with friends next to an open fire, dining in our restaurant and experiencing our excellent cuisine or staying in one of our individually decorated bedrooms, the Downshire Arms Hotel is the perfect location for business or pleasure. The hotel has 9 bedrooms all with modern faciltities. Excellent food and attentive staff is guaranteed to suit all manner of tastes and budgets all of which will ensure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
